"วัยเด็กฉันไม่เคยตั้งคำถามว่าศิลปะคืออะไร เพราะฉันไม่ได้สนใจศิลปะหรือวิชาวาดรูป มากเท่ากับการโดดเรียนไปเตร็ดเตร่ตามริมทุ่ง ฉันจำได้ว่า วันหนึ่งในชั่วโมงวิชาศิลปะ ครูให้ฉันออกไปยืนวาดรูปบนกระดานดำ ฉันนึกไม่ออกว่าจะวาดรูปอะไร จึงวาดรูปกระท่อมมุงจากโทรมๆ ซึ่งฉันแอบลอกเพื่อนมา ในตอนนั้นฉันอาจคิดแค่ว่า ศิลปะคือการลอกเลียนแบบ หรือว่าวาดไปมั่วๆ ให้หมดชั่วโมง ฉันไม่ได้ Born to be artist".
